Road to Success
"Welcome!"

In Room 109, fourth grade students will continue in their development as independent thinkers and workers through concrete, open-ended learning experiences. Students will be challenged to reflect on their learning and thoughtfully consider how they will apply it to their everyday lives. Students will also be encouraged to take greater ownership of their individual success.  Please take time to read these expectations and discuss them with your child.  By working together, we will have a productive and exciting year!

Testing

Tests are given after each chapter in Social Studies, Science, Health, Math, and Reading. Your child will bring his/her book home to review. Watch for it. If your child receives a letter grade of D or F on a test, please discuss it with your child, and sign the test. Your child must return the signed test to the teacher on the next school day.

IAR Assessment

The 4th grade IAR Assessment will be administered in March at a date to be announced.  We will practice after Christmas break to help relieve any anxieties students may have.   All questions will be from the new Illinois Learning Standards which include Common Core

Grading Scale

Here is the grading scale which will be used in our third grade classroom.  If you have questions about your child and how he or she is doing in the classroom when it comes to grades or social skills, please do not hesitate to email or call.  I will be happy to answer your concerns as quickly as I can.  Good relationships between students, parents, and guardians is part of my overall goal.  It will help everyone be successful in and out of the classroom.

Grades will be continuously updated on Tigerview for your review.  Please do not hesitate to ask questions about grades you are unsure about.  Most of the grades you see will have already come home with your child, but if you need more information, please let me know as soon as possible.
