Health

The health curriculum motivates children to develop healthy attitudes and behaviors at an early age. The content addresses the whole health concept physically, mentally, and socially, by covering topics such as feeling, nutrition, physical fitness, dental care, and safety issues. The body’s systems are addressed at an age-appropriate level. Also included are activities to help third graders develop important life skills such as decision-making, getting along with others, and dealing with peer pressure. Learning is promoted through a hands-on approach, small group activities, cooperative learning and role-playing.
